Walking really is a great way to get around and the best thing is, it’s free! It is also an easy way to get some movement into your daily routine. As adults it’s recommended we get 150 minutes of exercise per week, one of the easiest ways to achieve this can be to hop off the bus a couple of stops early! Benefits of walking include lowering the risk of obesity, reducing the risk of both chronic diseases and high blood pressure, preventing joint problems, as well as having a positive effect on your mood. Studies show that walking can encourage and improve creativity too – so why not head out for a walk now?

CYCLING 

Cycling is an excellent way to get about – it is around three times faster than walking and in some cases faster than driving too – particularly in central London! National Cycle Route 1 runs close to Gallions Place and is a long-distance route that connects you to Tower Bridge in Central London and Purfleet.
