On-site Car Club

Find out more information about the measures Enterprise Car Club have put in place to protect you: Enterprise Complete Clean Pledge

As part of Hopkins Homes commitment to you, an on-site car club is available for residents to use. This is operated by Enterprise Cars and each resident is entitled to free membership in addition to £50 free driving credit (which must be used within 6 months of signing up). As Kingley Grove develops, 3 vehicles will be available. By utilising the car club vehicles as and when you need them, you can eliminate the costly expense of car ownership and in particular, car clubs provide an excellent alternative to second car ownership. These vehicles provide 24/7 car hire and you are charged by the hour, making them a great option for quick trips to the shops or appointments.

All you need to do is, join, reserve, unlock and drive – making the process quick and simple for you. Once signed up and registered you can even book and unlock the vehicles using the Enterprise Car Club mobile app. Not sure how it all works? Enterprise has a handy guide and video which will provide all the information you need!

Lift sharing

By sharing your car journeys, not only are you reducing the number of vehicles on the road but you’re probably saving money too!

Lift sharing has many benefits;

→ Reducing the cost of travelling;

→ Undercuts the cost of nearly all forms of motorised transport;

→ Cuts congestion and pollution;

→ Reduces parking problems; and

→ It’s a great way to network and make new friends!

Cambridgeshire Car Share  has been set up specifically for residents of Cambridgeshire to assist in the process of arranging journeys to share with several lift sharing options already in the area! The website is free to join and you have both the opportunity to advertise as a driver or as a passenger. The online database then helps you find suitable car sharing options, whether this is for your regular commute or a one-off trip to an event or concert. By sharing the same or similar journeys with other people you can save money on the cost of car travel. There are already 4,000 members of Cambridgeshire Car Share and it is estimated that the average commuter could save £1,000 per year by lift-sharing. However, why not try the online calculator on the Liftshare website to see how much money you could actually save.

All it takes is to follow a few simple steps;

→ Sign up for free at Camshare

→ Find a suitable car sharing partner and message through the online system.

→ Organise and arrange your first car sharing journey!

For a full step-by-step guide on the process, please view the Liftshare ‘How to’ guide.

You can also view the frequently asked questions on the Liftshare website, including rules about insurance and any legal implications of car sharing.
