We have recently completed the fifth and final year of monitoring on behalf of Taylor Wimpey, for the Knights Park Travel Plan. We are pleased to report that the Travel Plan has achieved the required targets.
Since 2014, when the Travel Plan was first implemented, there has been an overall 2.4% reduction in single occupancy car journeys. Furthermore, there has been a significant increase in the number of residents travelling on foot; in total, 18.9%. Additionally, vehicular trip rates are much lower than identified in the 2014 baseline survey; 63% lower than in the AM peak and 66% lower in the PM peak from that originally estimated during planning.
Now that our role as Travel Plan Coordinator is coming to an end, we are offering residents the chance to manage and monitor the Travel Plan themselves. In addition to this, we also offering our Knights Park Facebook page to residents to run and maintain. If you would like to take over management of either the Travel Plan or Facebook page (or both!) Then please contact us directly before the 1st September 2019.
