Winter is Coming …

Cyclist in snow | Smarter Travel Ltd

If you’re a dedicated cyclist make sure you are ready for the winter weather …

With good lights and some common sense precautions, riding on the road at night is no more difficult than cycling during the day. Cycling in the dark is inevitable, if you carry on commuting into autumn, and as dusk arrives ever earlier, some cyclists can be nervous about riding at night.

As long as you make sure you’re visible, you generally get more room and respect from drivers at night than you do in the day. Drivers are looking for red and white lights in the dark so you’re immediately on their radar, therefore make sure you check your bicycle lights and change those batteries!

Unfortunately more rainfall in the autumn means less grip on the roads.

Be as prepared as you can be with advice set out by Cycle Scheme by visiting http://www.cyclescheme.co.uk/community for further information on what to look out for and how to deal with it.
